A man driving a forklift truck has torn down his father-in-law’s house in Henghe county, Zhejiang, possibly because of family conflicts, a local newspaper reported.
Seven adults and five children were watching TV in the house when they heard a loud bang outside and saw the vehicle break in to their yard, according to the Qianjiang Evening News.
The father-in law said they ran for cover in a washroom as the house’s roof and walls collapsed around them. The forklift stopped only after it blew a tyre.
The driver was arrested. Two of his own two children, aged four and six, were also in the house at the time.
The father-in-law said his youngest daughter met her husband years ago in Jiangsu province, but had only brought him home for the first time during the Lunar New Year in 2014 and the man found a job driving a forklift at a nearby construction site a month ago.
