Someone Better Help SBF forummers

Not sure how this is can be done. There has been 4 clones/alternatives that have emerged. Only otak69 has track record. One is definately operated by a conman and unfortunately some of the brothers have no clue.

The fundamenatal issues are
1) Unable to handle change in format. inconvenient format. Missing navigating side bar, quick reference single link to all post addressed to you etc.
2) Security concerns

I can't believe that people have registered with valid emails. In the meantime, would suggest avoiding any PMs. The list of email ID in Delphi Forums can be seen by Forum Owner. (And I am not talking about Delphi staff)

Any other suggestions?

my humble 2 cents:

if security was the issue, it would depend on our good bros and the trust they have in the old sam. if the display format was the issue, it would just take time to get used to.

2 years back, it took me a few days to get accustomed to the Delphi format, i must say it is pretty user friendly. on a similar note, it took me also a couple of days to get used to this vBulletin format. time is all it takes.

supposing the good bros would choose to migrate here, i supposed bro otak69 already has a thread that could help verify the transition of monikers, i have done so there myself, and they could update their new monikers here on the thread in that said Delphi thread. would you like to do so there too?

supposing they would love to take back their same monikers, that would depend on good o' sam to see if he would release the monikers to our good bros, simply because: some joker/s had registered a number of the monikers of the regulars... the good, the bad and the ugly.

supposing they would like to register a new moniker and get on with the fun, they could do so anonymously. i reckoned bro Laksa_boy had already shown the advantages of using an onion routing software, which helps to allow bros to surf anonymously.

At the sex forum, I've had requests from wives to confirm whether a particular nick belongs to their husbands and from husbands to track down wives whom they suspect are selling their services when they are away on businesss trips.

No cover has ever been blown by me.

As for IP addresses, if the govt ever has a reason to want to track down those cyberspace activist wannabies, they don't need me. Everything in and out of Singapore goes through the govt's giant filter. They know exactly where every packet of information is headed. They see the message being sent before it even reaches this server. :p

We all know who the con man is.... he has always been eyeing sbf forum all the while... at one time even offerring to merge his half-bake alternative-asia forum in delphi with sam...

But if bros here don't heed my warning.... its their call and risk.... we can only do so much to warn them about the risks of joining a forum hosted by dishonest person like the said con man...

I am amazed how regular forummers can trust an unfamiliar nick.

I too am surprised. We now have 2 clone/alternative forums, both run by nicks that I have not heard of. Forummers have sought their previous nicks but they have refused to throw any light and have been evading the posts seeking clarification.

Why the keeness to replace SBF in Delphi when they never even took part in any discussions in the past.

There are decent and long standing chaps who have gone into 2 of the questionable forums without realising it. One of the forums has even attempted to validate emails by pms.

I do go into the 2 forums (victor sun and sbf alliance) just to view the messages. Got to be more careful. Which one does the validation?

Please do not provide links to forums whose mod IDs you are not familiar with. You are sending innocent souls to places where in some cases their email ID are validated via pm. As mod in your forums you must be familiar with email listing and times etc.

Some of us have been with the original since its inception and are familiar with some conman and others that have sought PM for unknown reasons. SAM has never asked for PM for obvious reasons.

There is distinct reason why certain things are said and discussed in this forum over many years and no other forum has been able to duplicate it. It took close to 2 years before anything of significance and sensitiveness appeared.

There is also an imbecile running around who does not understand how the infraction works and the transparency involved and this is despite the fact that part of the move was avoid walt howe listening to other imbeciles and hypocrites who hide behind terms and conditions.

People trust you enough and providing links does indicate tacit endorsement.

This post is to all sbf forumers..... here's one of tricks conman use to obtain information from you.... believe me.. this trick was used by cheapjustice to blackmail one of his victims....

1. Obtain email...
2. Sought reply with "offers" especially free movie [usually porn] links....
3. From email reply, can check the IP....
4. Contrary to what sam said, companies which uses leased line ID is specific....
5. Threaten the forumer with 'complaint' to his employer....

The best way to communicate privately with another member in a forum is to use vbulletin's PM feature. Just click on the nick of any member and a drop down menu will appear.

Use the "send Private Message" features.

NOTHING will be revealed to the recipient except your forum nick.

Say.. the host of a forum private email a forumer... so how do the forumer reply via forum to the host.... many will just click 'reply to sender' in the email....
