The Government is as GUILTY AS HELL in the FT policy which ends up MARGINALISING AND THROWING MIDDLE AGE PEOPLE OUT OF JOB.
1) The TOTAL COST OF BUSINESS is not as simple as just lower wages.
2) The other constituents of cost of Business are ALL WITHIN THE POWERS OF THE GOVERNMENT TO adjust but it stubbornly refuses to do so because it is GREEDY
3) Cost of Land and Buildings....a major cost of Business. the Government prefers to prop up these prices because MANY GLCS. OWN Land and Buildings and it is only in the interest of Government Linked Companies to prop up the prices.
4) Duties and Excise on Petrol, Diesel, COEs. ERPs. Import Duties all of these ADD TO THE COST OF BUSINESS...here again nothing is being done.
5) TV Licenses, Taxi licenses, all types of licenses on which a fee is paid.
6)Stamp duties...
7) Levies on Foreign Labour Employment....all collect but where did the revenue go to?
8) Levies on Maids...where did the revenue go to?
Billions of dollars of taxes, levies, excise, duties where did all these go to?
10) Extravagant expenditures by Statutory Boards on lavish offices, HQs. wasteful spending like the new HDB HQ. leaving behind empty office buildings at Redhill
11) "Fat Bonuses for Government Employees" when the general population are struggling to make Business succeed and Workers of Private Companies do not get bonuses, or even CPF....Many Companies now lay off normal employees and "subcontract" from Employment Agencies.
The Government is responsible for the current malaise in the Local Employment Market. It must do something before the Country Collapse.
