Solution by fire : If business is failing and driver stupid .
SCDF how are you going to investigate the fire. Even if it's of criminal intent?
DO you let it go?
STOMPer Ming sent in these photos of a fire that broke out at a storage yard located at the junction of Lorong Buangkok and Gerald Drive at about 7pm yesterday (Jan 25).
He says:
"At about 7pm yesterday (Jan 25), when most were having their Reunion Dinner, a fire broke out at a sprawling building material hardware storage yard.
"The storage yard is located at the junction of Lorong Buangkok (next to Singapore's last Kampong) and Gerald Drive (old Jalan Woodbridge).
"Within minutes of calling 999, six fire engines and red rhinos came to the rescue.
"Firemen could not find sufficient water from nearby water hydrants.
"The Seletar River was of no help either as it was low tide.
"Finally, water had to be drawn from across the Seletar River at Yio Chu Kang Road.
"The storage yard was closed for Chinese New Year and no ambulance was sighted. The fire was put out before 8pm.
"Years ago, before Lorong Buangkok kampongs made way for development into the current Sengkang estate, a huge fire also broke out at one storage yard."
The SCDF says it received a call at 6.55pm on Jan 25 informing them of a fire at Gerald Drive.
The fire involved the contents of a container that was used as a makeshift office.
SCDF put out the fire within 10 minutes.
It says no one was injured in the fire.
