A FORMER employee of the Jurong Town Council has claimed that she was unfairly sacked because she had volunteered to help an opposition party.
Ms Geraldine Soh, who was a customer service officer at the council for three years, was helping out at a National Solidarity Party rally on Labour Day before receiving a suspension the next working day on Tuesday, May 3.
She claims she was suspended without a valid reason given before being asked to leave when she returned on Monday.
However, the town council has refuted the suggestion, attributed Ms Soh's dismissal to a human resource decision and her poor performance.
