Three men and one woman aged between 61 and 67 were arrested by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers for suspected drug activities on Friday (April 22).

About 735g of heroin and 254g of methamphetamine or Ice, with an estimated street value of $90,000 were also seized during the operation, said CNB on Sunday.

On Friday afternoon, CNB officers arrested a 61-year-old Singaporean man in the vicinity of Serangoon Road and recovered 245g of Ice hidden in food packaging, and cash amounting to around $3,400.

The other three suspects, a 65-year-old woman and two men aged 65 and 67, all Singaporeans, were arrested in a follow-up operation conducted in the same area.

CNB officers recovered 521g of heroin and 3g of Ice hidden in a biscuit box, as well as about $1,500 in cash from the 67-year-old man.

The other man and the woman were then escorted to their hideout in a private residential estate in the vicinity, where officers seized about 214g of heroin, 6g of Ice and various drug paraphernalia.

At least $12,000 in cash was also seized from the 65-year-old man.

CNB said that the amount of heroin recovered during the operation was enough to feed the addiction habit of 350 abusers for a week, while the amount of Ice was sufficient for that of 150 abusers.

Investigations are ongoing.

A person found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of heroin, or 250g of methamphetamine faces the mandatory death penalty.

The plight of the elderly will always win sympathy from Humankind. Some may had made bad relationship choices in life or abandoned by their kids & now have to resort to working instead of retiring to survive. It is POISON as it harms & destroy the brain from productive use, & the dependency on it is so great it will cause an addict to rob & kill another to feed such deadly habits, not to mention the huge amounts of money that traffickers earns which allows them to filthily corrupt others to support their causes, harming not just Humanity's progression & evolution, but to its demise if they succeed.

Drug dealers had evolved over the years. With War on Drugs still on & education to many on drug abuse & its effects, most Humans had stayed away from it. Thus they will find difficulty in recruiting mules to expand their operations. It had not deterred them, but now are looking at those with low IQ or the elderly to push poison into innocent minds & destroy civilizations for their own greed, with the hope that such mules would win sympathy & escape death sentences, or create chaos within societies between the liberals & conservative, tearing the fabric of society apart.

Therefore, there is a NEED to send a CLEAR & CONCISE message to the drug dealers & ANYONE whom supports the destructive poisoning of mental health - death awaits for them whom deals with such poison to Humankind & Civilizations, and serve as a WARNING to anyone else who is thinking of dealing in drugs, to enrich themselves at the expense of innocent others & societies, as happened to other nations that foolishly allowed such drugs to flourish.

There will be many comparison made between drugs & other products or hobbies, but the best catchphrase to sieve out 'chaff from wheat' are cognitive functions & mental health.

Liquor sold in markets with alcohol content are between the ranges of 5% ( Beer ) to 40% ( distilled spirits such as whisky, etc). No liquor is sold at 100% alcohol content, which can't even be drunk, or without IMMEDIATE harm to the Human body. With such low alcohol content, the mind is only temporary altered if drunk in quantities, & that one is often incapable of any cognitive functions momentarily, let alone stand up. However, after the hangover, cognitive functions return unimpaired, & fully capable to continue with daily life, & a choice to return to drinking or not to.

The only thing altered in gambling is one's wallet. It either gets thicker or thinner on the throw of a dice. His cognitive functions still remains the same, & he can only continue gambling if his wallet is thicker. If not, he will have to use his cognitive functions to work harder to earn more money to feed his habit.

However, the same cannot be said about opioids such as Heroin & its derivatives. Once hooked, it immediately alters the mind by releasing high amounts of dopamine and other neurotransmitters that makes one feel pleasurable, for a short limited amount of time, far more than the Human brain is capable of providing naturally, causing one to CRAVE CONSTANTLY for such 'fix', each time with higher & higher amounts.

Over time, harmful proteins build up in the brain, inflaming it & causing structural damage, losing even white matter. There is NO cognitive function once such opioids are taken, only living life to obtain such opioids daily & every moment when the effects wear off, with disregards to his family, loved ones & surroundings, let alone any contributions to society.

And to rehabilitate is NO easy task, akin to tearing out one's brain as it had gotten used to the high amounts of dopamine & other chemicals, affecting one's mental health & stability....

Thus a priority level one need to prevent such poison that opioids are, from infecting innocent Humans & society by choice & not by a virus, as well as to punish severely those whom traffick in such drugs, whom earns a living by cultivating on farmlands & selling such poison, & causing suffering/pain to society by bringing along their associated filth & corruption to Humankind .

Silly sinkie. People tell u drug is choice drug is fun u keep going about drug is danger drug is poison. If drug is lethal, customers would all have dieded who is left to buy the crap the drug lords are peddling? Obviously your argument is flawed! Walls of text will not change that.

Some say deliver drug is a crime OK but a deaf penalty is too harsh for a simple felony. It will not solf problem. It only transfer problem to the lowest rung of the criminal operation. Hardly consider justice. You like injustice?

Some even have the chick to say killing will safe prison space. Might as well expand the deaf penalty to shop lifting, drink driving so u can safe ur precious land space to build more condos!
