Snatch theft victim fighting for her life
KUALA LUMPUR: A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after she was stabbed four times when she resisted attempts by two men to snatch her handbag. The victim, Toh Ai Ling, underwent an operation yesterday to stabilise her condition during which her left kidney had to be removed because of her injuries.
The incident occurred on Thursday when Toh and a friend were walking home after having lunch near Taman Seri Sentosa, Jalan Klang Lama at 2.30pm when two men on a motorcycle wearing full-face helmets suddenly stopped in front of them. The suspects tried to grabbed Toh’s handbag but she refused to let go. They then stabbed her with a knife, three times on her stomach and on her back.
