Snake shock: The 5m-long python that was found in a drain hole by an MPPP worker in Jalan Utama Monday. Several motorcyclists stopped by to help pull the python out. Police personnel later took the reptile away in a gunny sack.
GEORGE TOWN: A Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) worker had a shock when he saw a tail protruding from a drain hole while sweeping the road along Jalan Utama here.
He looked closer and realised that it belonged to a python.
The worker, who declined to be named, said several motorcyclists passing by stopped and helped pull out the 5m-long python.
“We pulled it out after about 30 minutes when we broke part of the cement pavement,” he said.
The reptile was later put into a gunny sack and taken away by police personnel.
