<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to Thursday's Forum Online letter by Ms Ng Fong Ling, 'SingTel needs to be flexible on its contract terms'.
We have contacted Ms Ng to explain the charges and procedures for analog-digital line conversions.
A $50 fee is applicable when a customer changes from a digital telephone line to a fixed analog telephone line and vice versa as an installation team needs to be on site to reconfigure the wiring and settings.
Customers on digital lines do not need to convert them back to analog before porting out their telephone numbers or when they move to a new address. We apologise for any confusion on this point to Ms Ng.
Our front-line officers have been reminded to exercise care and give accurate information to customers.
We thank Ms Ng for her feedback.

Just look at the P&L in Singtel to understand how much they made. By the way, it partly explains how Temesek is able to generate good returns thanks to all the subscribers.
