Singer in sex scandal to be brought to court today
KOSMO! reported that Bandung police will deploy some 600 personnel at its central courthouse for the hearing of the sex scandal case involving superstar Ariel, the vocalist of pop group Peterpan. The paper also reported that the 27-year-old singer would not be accorded any special treatment despite his superstar status.
A local officer Joko Siswanto confirmed the singer would be brought to the court from the Kebun Waru detention centre. “He will be brought on Monday in a vehicle that is normally used to transport detainees,” he said. Ariel has appealed to his fans to stay away from the courthouse to prevent any untoward incidents.
“It is enough for just me to be there,” he said. Ariel has been detained since June 22 after several sex video clips allegedly involving him, his actress girlfriend Luna Maya and celebrity Cut Tari appeared on the Internet.
