Even if you lay there supposedly "certified" Brain Dead.

They can take away or harvest your organs.

Remember there have been several cases of people certified brain dead that HAVE come out of comas after several years, AND fully recovered.

THERE IS THAT CHANCE and someone IN THIS COUNTRY wants to play GOD for the RICH and POWERFUL.

....SO, remember to OPT OUT !!

For you, not to worry.

Nobody dare to touch any of your organs with a 10 feet pole.

You stupid idiot !!:oIo:

but bear this in mind - people who have opted out of HOTA will have a lower priority on the waiting list should they need an organ transplant.

You still believe in their one sided nonsense?

Who the fuck is that GUY trying to play GOD.

In saying and highlighting so by you, HE IS ACTUALLY YOUR GOD. He is not mine!

Have the press and news not shown that ONE (if rich and powerful) can jump queue ?

simple solution: pre-sign the opt out for but don't date it. give it to loved one for safe keeping. in case of emergency, back date by a week and mail in.

don't think that's applicable if you have family or friends who want to make direct donation to you rite?

Anyway if they want to restrict, just do it outside S'pore lor. Med costs in s'pore not low compared to outside anyway.

anyway now legalise organ "purchase" liao - i say "purchase" because you are expected to offer compensation to the donar. So, what is stopping companies from offering "matching" service? So technically, if you opted out from HOTA, and in event you need an organ - if you have the financial means, you can still get a willing "donor".

But look at it from another angle, if you are really brain dead, to be able to give your organ to someone in need is like doing a "good deed" for you and your family.

Really against the "brain dead" justification for taking away organs. I've personal experience with a friend who was that and nearly had his life support taken away, but came back from his coma. Thanks goodness the doctor advised the family against it, as heart was still beating. Thanks goodness no HOTA in Indo (but of course, if he's poor, I don't know, it could have been a different outcome)

qn: when they take your organs away, do they pay your family for the organs? or do they use the organs for others and charge them for and then keep the $$?

Does anybody know the cost of a transplant?

Other than the hospital costs, doctors cost, etc there is also the long term medication e.g. to prevent organ rejection. With Spores world class medical costs, how many can afford such care?
