Our civil service is the best in the world as we have a scholarship system, based on merit. Other countries practise cronyism whereby incompetent people get into civil service using their connections.

Our civil servants deserved every penny they get and it is a fact that they would have gotten a higher pay had they work for the private sector.

SINGAPORE : A business survey on 12 Asian cities found that civil servants in Singapore are the most efficient.

The survey, conducted by Hong Kong-based Political & Economic Risk Consultancy (PERC), also found that Singaporean bureaucrats are unhelpful when things go wrong.

It is the third time Singapore took top spot in the survey, last conducted in 2007.

Hong Kong came in second, followed by Thailand and India was last.

Over 1,200 expatriates working in these 12 Asian cities took part in the survey. - CNA

Maybe SG is paying $1m and get rating of 90, while HK only use $0.5m while obtaining rating of 88.

Civil Servants here follow the letter to the T, and like their pay masters, they have no mercy and compassion for the man on the street. Fucking cogwheels in a sideshow.

Better just follow Law. Otherwise, I'll lose my condo, car, cash and CPF!
