Singaporean woman held in Johor fined and freed

KUALA LUMPUR: A Singaporean woman who had been detained since last Thursday was released yesterday after being fined 2,000 ringgit (S$815) for entering Malaysia without getting her passport stamped.
The Malaysian husband of Mrs Indra Arumugam, 23, paid the fine, said Singapore's Consul to Johor Baru, Mr Tham Borg Tsien, who was in court.
Mrs Indra told the court yesterday that she and her husband, Mr Evaraj Subramaniam, 23, had entered via the Second Link on Wednesday last week after work.
