Two men who allegedly jumped in a taxi with $4.5 million of heroin have been arrested in inner Sydney and will appear in court on Saturday.
Police stopped the taxi on George Street just before 10am (AEDT) on Friday morning.
They uncovered a suitcase which contained the high-grade heroin in plastic resealable bags.
The two men, from Singapore, were arrested and charged.
Later in the day police also searched serviced apartments in Chatswood, in the city's north.
The two men were arrested by specialist police from the Joint Asian Crime Group, which targets Asian crime syndicates in NSW.
The Group is made up of NSW police, the Australian Federal Police, Customs, the Australian Crime Commission and the NSW Crime Commission.
The men were charged with possessing and supplying a prohibited drug. They were refused bail and are due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
