Singaporean nabbed in Sydney record drug bust

YOU could call him the “Ice Man” from Singapore, for he was allegedly involved in one of the biggest drug deals ever in Australia.
But Leow Boon Cheng, 32, and his two accomplices’ attempt to smuggle about $556 million worth of methamphetamine - more commonly known as “ice” – into Sydney was foiled.
The three men were arrested in Sydney on Wednesday in a multi-agency sting operation, which netted 585kg of ice – the largest haul in Australian law enforcement history.
Police first got wind of the deal when they were tipped off last September by a member of the public.
