So just moved back to Singapore after spending most of my life in the UK.
I was actually born and raised there and it’s been really difficult adapting to the norms and culture here so far.
I do enjoy being here more and more though. The food, the people and weather is brilliant compared to back in the UK.
My only issue right now is how people look at me when I start to talk. I feel like they look at me in disgust or are just weirded out by the fact that someone like them speaks with such a rich accent.
Am I overthinking this, I almost feel like I don’t belong here at times. I’m trying to learn some singlish though and hopefully I’ll be good at that over time.
