Pirates hijack Singapore-owned tanker in Lagos: IMB

KUALA LUMPUR: Pirates have hijacked a Singapore-owned oil tanker in the Nigerian port of Lagos -- the third attack in just over two weeks in the Gulf of Guinea, the International Maritime Bureau said Wednesday.

The vessel, which had 23 crew on board, was laden with fuel, the bureau's Kuala Lumpur-based piracy reporting centre said, adding that the pirates were sailing the ship into the open sea.

It did not say how the pirates hijacked the tanker on Tuesday evening.

well the tanker might be singapore registered. but thing is, all the crew inside should be foreigners. so bottom line is, we serve ns to protect foreigners

Ship salvage companies still have Sinkies as vessel crew..

Some Container vessels also have Sinkie Capts, Chief officers, 2nd officers and Engineers.. But crew for these type of vessels are now mostly Pinoys, Indons..

When I was workin onboard a vessel at Labuan, we saw a motorised sampan comin near our vessel with 5 tanned looking guys inside the sampan..

Fuckin Hell, I really thought they were Pirates, even my Chief Officer thought so.. Skali they were local guys selling ciggarettes..

i remember during the 90's when suharto collapsed. Indonesia was very chaotic like bo chenhu, Indonesian Chinese were raped killed.

heard from a reservist mate that almost every night got confrontations at near raffles lighthouse. those indonesian marine police cum immigration cum custom cum pirates like no control, they will try to come to singapore waters to rob during that period and PCG will be the only one there out at the sea to stop them. this one happened every night!

pcg patrol boat keep stopping them from coming into our waters till they tulan and even escalate to using m16 to point at PCG boat at point blank distance. that time the indonesian got bigger ship and more crews than one pcg boat. pcg was still using the famous px boat with a lot of black smoke. so inform ops rm and asked for navy help. dont ask never mind, asked liao the navy run far far away. havent ask the navy still can see their pb class from a distance, asked liao they run all the way to horsburgh lighthouse and dont even dare to come near. the patrol boat will keep stopping indonesia marine police till day break then they left.

all these newspaper never come out and people only see navy and those chia liao bee admiral co very garang!!! but when the country need them, they run far far away. thats why when the tv keep showing those saf advertisement, in my heart i will spit on those navy fuckers. high pay chobolan, chialiaobee and bochee fella! ironically only the police man defending our waters including malay police officers what we call kiaotall than navy with state of art equipments and vessels with most of the manning crew are chinese with a little bit of mama. knnbccb should charge those navy fella cowardice and treason then hang to death!!! :oIo::oIo::oIo:

Pinoy feeder from training academies in Philiippines. You could almost say human exports, sail the 7 seas.

Heck, met some pinoy crew re-joining european carrier and I asked them if they missed home. They confessed not quite so, not just for the money but also good conditions (with recreation etc) and comforts compared to their shanty homes. Some capts even had a hard time getting guys off on home leave (over stayers?)
