Majority:-

The Baba-Nyonya Race are the descendants from the late 15th century until now, the Chinese immigrants to Singapore.

Minority:-

The Malay Race are the decendants that an ended the reign of the Malay kings in Singapore due to disputes broke out among the Sultan Hussein Shah who died with two succeeded Tengku Mahmud vs. Tengku Makota Ali

The Chitty Race are a distinctive group of Tamil people in Singapore , who are also known as the Indian Peranakans. They later settled down and freely intermingled with the local Malays and Chinese settlers.

The Eurasians Race are descended from Europeans who intermarried with local Asians. The first Europeans to land in Singapore were the Portuguese, followed by the Spanish, the Dutch and the British.

So Singapore official language shall be Mandrin, Malay, Tamil, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and English.

Singapore Identity is Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and British mix culture.

i think such arguments along malay, chinese, nonya, eurasian lines are no longer relevant

singapore today is much more cosmopolitan....being a centre of attraction for european, chinese, indian, indonesian and malaysian nationalities

the concept of national identity has taken on a different scope...it offers unparallelled opportunities to foreigners

whilst the question of national identity remains debatable, it has become such that the question of nation loyalty may be more settled

few years later, it will be at least 50% PRC , then all those numbers above become meaningless... unless the crazy fundamentalist muslims (surrounding us) believe all that shite about us being zionist(when was the last time you recognised a jew crossing the street here???), and burn the isle down... then it's 0% everything... ALLAH AKBAR. ack. i'm not sure which is worse but i don't like to burn.
