Having less sugar isn't a bad thing. Having less sugar by adding artificial sweeteners (many of which are actually more harmful than sugar, eg. ironically increasing the risk of diabetes) is a bad thing.

Macdonald's (Singapore) does not specify if artificial sweeteners are used in their "Less Sugar" Coke, and that lack of transparency is a bad thing.

Edit
Coca-Cola Life is a lower-calorie version of Coca-Cola, made using stevia and sugar as sweeteners. It has 27 kilocalories/100 mL, containing only 60% of the calories of regular Coca-Cola.[1] It was created in Argentina and Chile after five years of research together in these countries.[2]

The drink contains stevia leaf extract,[3] the first branded Coke product to use it.[4] However, it is not the first product owned by the Coca-Cola Company to use stevia. Over 45 products distributed by Coca-Cola use stevia extract,[5] including Vitamin Water and Seagram's Ginger Ale.[6]

Coca-Cola Life contains sugar, but uses less sugar than traditional Coca-Cola. An 8 US fluid ounces (240 ml) serving contains around 60 calories, 17 grams of carbohydrates of which 17 grams is sugar (equals 1/3 less sugar than traditional Coca-Cola). The list of ingredients is carbonated water, cane sugar, caramel color, caffeine, phosphoric acid, and stevia.[7][8]

Coca-Cola Life can be compared with Pepsi True, which also uses sugar and stevia as a sweetener.

The anti-sugar agenda is crazy. Just because Lee Hsien Loong declared he wants lower sugar in all beverages, everyone starts obeying.

If you're scared of diabetes, carbs are a far greater culprit. Also, it's more helpful to investigate why insulin production falls or why pancreas become dysfunctional. Reducing sugar intake is just papering over the cracks and doesn't address the real problem.

Who owns Han Bao Bao Inc?

Also, is this a global decision made by McDonalds HQ in the USA, or just Sinkieland?

the sweetener used in 100plus "no sugar" version is sucralose. you drink you lose.

Patiently awaiting Coca Cola Gula Melaka.

I bet it'll taste really fantastic.

Artificial sweeteners are very bad for human brains and can cause cancer tumors.

Artificial sweeteners in Coke are more harmful than Fructose.

high-fructose corn syrup is more harmful than cane sugar.

cane sugar is more harmful than beer (ie. a can of beer is less harmful than a can of coke, if taken in moderation).
