Singapore, as usual trying to act clever and be a busybody, was conned into attending Tehran conference on disarmament and non-proliferation, but later has to issue a public statement dissociating itself from the conference after realizing what Tehran is up to. Now it has to report to UN to straighten matters out.

Singapore Distances Itself From Tehran Nuclear Conclusion

SINGAPORE, April 20 (Bernama) -- Singapore said today it had disassociated itself from the conclusion of the Tehran Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation which ended yesterday in the Iranian capital, as it was misleading.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry said Singapore attended the two-day Tehran Conference but had formally disassociated itself from the conclusion which the Iranian authorities claimed was adopted at the Tehran Conference.
"We have taken this step because the document issued by the Iranian authorities is misleading," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said there was no agreement among delegates to the Tehran Conference to issue such a document, and "neither was there any discussion on the contents of the document."
Singapore said it had sent a Third Person Note to the Iranian Foreign Ministry today and intended to make its position clear to the United Nations in New York and Geneva.
News reports from Tehran yesterday said the conference called for the international move for the world without nuclear weapons.
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was also quoted calling for the international efforts to "achieve nuclear disarmament in all aspects."
He said the international community, especially countries with nuclear weapons, had not done enough for nuclear disarmament.
He said that if people really wanted a world without nuclear weapons, the international community should come together and get it done.
Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltanieh said during the conference that a global move was a necessity for disarmament.
He also earlier stated that the Tehran Conference was not a response to the US Nuclear Summit, hosted earlier by United States President Barack Obama in Washington DC last week.
