Singapore banks ranked safest in Asia

SINGAPORE'S three local lenders - DBS Bank, United Overseas Bank (UOB) and OCBC Bank - are the safest banks in Asia.
All three also improved their positions in the latest ranking of the world's 50 safest banks, compiled by Global Finance magazine.
In the rankings released in New York on Monday, Singapore's largest lender DBS was at No. 24, up from the 28th spot in March. UOB was 35th, and OCBC was 36th, both up two places from 37th and 38th respectively.
