Actually this is a anglo saxon problem.
They deposed a legitimate elected Russian president of ukraine snd replaced him with a pro west native Ukrainian by instigating riots snd eventuslly causing a civil war, annexation of Crimea( which was originally russian territory but was given to Ukraine by soviet leaders.), and possible invasion if ukraine proceed with its intention to be a NATO member and possible annexation of half the country by russia.
Germany and france are reluctant allies yo US/UK and when asked to send equipmrnt to Ukraine, they sent helmets.
There maybe 100k Russians at the border with Ukraine, but US itself has 80k troops in western europe for many decades now.

Its just to scare. Putin may invade eastern ukraine, hold a referendum and turn into russian territory. That will be the price of joining NATO.

Brandon already said us will not send in troops to evacuate americunts in Ukraine. They also scared of Russia. Usa can only bully smaller countries.
