SINGAPORE: Police are investigating a case of shop theft at a jewellery shop located along Upper Dickson Road.
The incident happened on October 15 at about 5.27pm.
A 33-year-old female shop assistant was tending to business when a male suspect approached her and asked to look at some bracelets and necklaces.
The shop assistant showed the suspect three necklaces valued at S$10,000 on a display tray.
The man held the jewellery in his hands on the pretext of trying them on.
Shortly after, the suspect grabbed all three necklaces and dashed out of the shop.
A shop staffer and a few members of the public chased the suspect along Clive Street but eventually lost sight of him.
The suspect was last seen running in the direction towards Jalan Bersar.
The male suspect is described to be in his 30s, about 1.7 metres tall, having a medium build and short curly hair.
He was last seen in a white long-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue long pants and running shoes.
He was wearing sunglasses and carrying a green backpack.
