As the National Day was celebrated at Padang, a silent but not so quiet 1 man protest was happening at Speakers Cornered @ Hong Lim Park on 9.Aug.2010 from about 4+PM till 7+PM. Details are very exciting and shocking. I recorded lots of videos of it.

This is something only the 3 days WB-IMF stand-off on 16.Sept.2006 can beat at Speakers Cornered as far as I had seen.

Mr. Zhou a new citizen of Singapore from PRC staged a 1 man protest at Hong Lim Park Speakers Corner on 9.Aug.2010 National Day. The police were called repeatedly to harass Mr. Zhou, who hold a valid permit to protest.

All Mr Zhou was doing there was to distribute his flyers to passers by. About 4:30pm the 1st uniformed police (2 males) arrived in this car, and left very quickly, while Mr. Zhou gave them a copy of flyer voluntarily. The 2 policemen went into this car faster than I could pull out my camera.

Police arrived for 3rd time in this car, did not get off the car, and left at once when they saw me with camera.

The police arrived for 5th time and harassment lasted this time for 30 mins or so. 2 investigating officers under cover from Central Police Division arrived near 6pm, looking at banner, Mr Zhou took initiative to engage them. Investigators questioned Mr. Zhou for 20 mins.

2 investigating officers under cover from Central Police Division took record of Mr. Zhou's NRIC and Mr. Zhou gave them copies of his flyers.

I followed and observed him until he left. He tried to evade me by waling through the temp hawkers center, but I managed to track him till he ran across the junction.

This new citizen's protest doesn't seem to be political in nature. Why did mata want to harrass this poor fellow? He has a right to protest!

It is a good idea for him to set up the blog with the details of his protest in it, even if the protest is disrupted by the mata, people can find out more about the protest in the blog.

He can also do a silent protest, so as not to be arrested for making a public speech, just stand there with his banner and a blog site on the banner.

To be fair to the matas at the scene, they had tried to not be seen to be harassing LEEgitimate protesters. They reason why they had to be repeatedly showing up is there was some famiLEE LEEgime running dogs kept calling mata and kept going to the NPC Krata Ayer to make police report.

The investigator was asked who was the blue T-shirt jean guy, they said that was THEIR BOSS.

Should compile a dossier on mata, put their photos there so you know next time if they show up they are mata. Now you know the guy in blue shirt is someone ranking.

The blog is great, great job, you know blogs are free, next time you guys go and protest, set up a blog. The whole idea of protest is to convey a message, so if the protest is disrupted by mata, people can go to the blog and read the message.

Looks like Mr Zhou is a serious about his protest, he had that custom made banner, pole for hanging the banner up, I think he means business

Mr. Zhou's renovation company was ruled by Small Claim Tribunal (years ago) to pay a cheating customer some money to demolish the floor tiles which had some minor defects. The cheat customer is another PRC man, he did not demolish the defective tiles and pocketed the money. Mr Zhou initially offered to repair FOC but the cheat insisted to sue Mr. Zhou to take advantage. Mr. Zhou don't speak Ang Moh, his cheat customer speaks Ang Moh in Small Claim Tribunal you can not bring lawyer at all.

So Mr. Zhou had a petition signed by 200 sub-contractors and renovation companies (he was contractor reno association leader) submitted to Small Claim Tribunal. One Indian judge appeared to be racist against PRC & arrogant, according to Mr. Zhou that judge office was displayed full of Lee Hsien Loong photos. Basically no Hew Lan Mr. Zhou's petition & told Mr. Zhou if you not happy then spend money to sue in higher court.

Mr. Zhou is unhappy against 2 judges 1 female Chinese + 1 male Indian. So he protested these years in anger. I try to tone his protest towards constructive improvement in SG judiciary, meanwhile watch his back from mata & jail. I also helped him to setup a blog, but he can not frame proper convincing contents inside so far.

Basically you can see that PRC new citizen is brave and will protest against LEEgime on NDP, he did so on his own idea. I just gave him necessary info from my own experience and I blog about his protest. If I wasn't guiding his protest could easily make him a PRC version of Alan Shadrake.

Nothing to do with politics. If the customer pockets the money rather than fix his broken tiles, that his business not matter how stupid the decision is. This is part of business. The tiles were broken and compensation was paid. What does he want. In future, please write on something meaningful. Normally renovation defects can be settled in or outside court this way that if customer dislike the original contractor then engage another to redo it, and either mutually agree or had judge ruled how to settle the cost. But if you claimed to be repairing and took the money for repairing, and instead of repairing you pocketed the money and did no repair it proved that the alleged defects are indeed acceptable to you as a user, and you are just picking on the contractor to take advantage, abusing the court. Court must award orders of claims with conditions for genuine defect repair claims, not render the court itself to be abused by greedy bullies and bastards.

If courts allow it's own power to be abused by bullies and crooks then it will surely lose respect from people which is necessary to have our judiciary functional. This is the area that I want to see SGP improved.

In western states there are many cases of bastards abusing courts to sue people, claiming to be injured and disabled asking compensations, sue their doctors, plastic surgeons say the don't like their own faces after face-lift etc, but they pocket the money and never even redo their own faces. These are essentially frauds, just like false insurance claims. These bastards should be punished! They not only abused the professional services which helped them, they also abused the courts, using courts as tool for their extortion.

Who will respect courts if courts render themselves to become thugs weapons?

I only took video during JBJ funeral, and I mostly stayed away from his family members because I am not close to them. I was spending time mostly with opposition persons who I am familiar. There are protesters and there are protesters, and in my experience, even within a same protest, they are not FULLY AGREEING with each other. Many time they are compromised to work together. I did LOTS of these before, but I will compromise up to my own limit. I will not blindly follow politics of any person, I have disagreements with late JBJ and similarly with CSJ & many others. It is true that no one can be very sure if I would be friend or enemy because at different times I may be able or unable to agree / compromise, if I disagree I will strongly remain in my own stands, if agreed I will strongly back. So I can be either of great help or great pain in the ass.

I have not found myself remaining on the same side with any political character ALL THE TIME, depending on the issue and reason. e.g. I am against JBJ's paying back good money to famiLEE LEEgime in huge sum, but I helped him to raise them. I think he deserves my help, but I don't think the bastards deserves to be paid. He asked me to help to plea for donations, I agreed so I helped. I remained strongly disagree with what he did with these money because I knew he was using them to pay the famiLEE LEEgime bastards.

JBJ had during GE2006 unable to contest because his bankruptcy repayment was still falling short. He had wanted me to stand in Ngee Soon Central and in his own idea like his proxy, 154th reported some of these, but not fully accurate. His conditions were rejected by me because he wanted me to be fully in compliance with his political stands, I can compromise with many demanding things but not this.
