The pappies are bringing back dialects with a vengeance... but their intentions are dishonorable indeed.

should never have stopped and should have fucked the goddamn speak Mandarin campaign. The only thing it has achieved is more Singapore dollars flowing to China and more China people coming to Singapore. Evergrande much?

Dialects are such poor names for our native languages. As if Mandarin is the only legitimate "language". Even the name "Mandarin" is from India.

It's a constructed language from Beijing dialect which Beijingers actually think is garbage. So many Beijing people have told me that if you go to Beijing and speak Mandarin they will treat you like shit. So why learn it? To be more "Chinese"? What a joke.

Our ancestors refused to speak anything other than their native dialects. We called ourselves t'ng lang and tong yan. All to reflect that we were true Chinese and not some Mongolian bastard people trying to speak a version of Chinese that spread along with the Mongolian influence in China.

So are you Han Chinese?

Same as evil BE. They have many ascents and which one shd you adopt... yours are BBC English, British Broadcasting Corporation radio station... not even a native English.... if you speak BBC English they treat you like a confederate slaves and Indian slaves... they create this ascent to separate you as a renegade outcast non English bastard 3rd world people... opium stock people.

Pommies are the most racist race in the world.... gunboats rules the world... not a compassion, humble, gracious, non religious, caring nation. They are 1st world people and all the villages and poor nations they colonised are 3rd world people.... created from dust from the ground. 2nd people, whereas they are the first people create from the image of God.... Genesis 1.

yes, fuck the speak mandarin nonsense, fuck old fart because he wants to control the chinese locals

dialects are so much more funny

It is definitely good to bring back chinese dialects, but I think it is a little bit too late. All the dialect roots were removed, remaining those are also dying off.

there's still hope. First of all, there's a huge reservoir of Hokkien in the army. Teochew in the fish markets that I know of. Cantonese no need to say. Now all it takes is an organized effort.
