Distribution Of Seats Among Opposition Almost Completed
GEORGE TOWN, March 27 (Bernama) -- Discussions on seat allocations among the opposition pact for the 10th Sarawak state election is expected to be completed soon.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the decision on the seat allocation would be announced by the top party leadership soon.
"Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (Opposition Leader) has stated that discussions on the PKR and PAS seats had been completed. The PKR and DAP will be completed. Just waiting for the official announcement," Lim, who is also the DAP secretary-general, told reporters, here Sunday.
The DAP-PKR-PAS-SNAP pact was reported to have failed to agree on the allocation of seats that they want to contest in the state election to be held on April 16 while nomination day has been fixed for April 6.
Out of the 71 Sarawak State Legislative Assembly seats to be contested, the PKR has insisted on contesting in 52 constituencies, SNAP is claiming 40 seats while the DAP and PAS want to contest in 18 and six constituencies respectively.
