He told me a few interesting things. Firstly, he has noticed that these days, even Singaporean JC students don't like FT students. Few years ago, there wasn't such things. He got even 1 SG student came to tell him that she wanted to change class cause there were too many PRCs in her class and she didn't want to end up doing projects with them! Again, such things never happened before.
He also talked to Burmese students who are PRs here in Singapore (parents are PRs). The Burmese students told him that they would like to do NS after JC. He asked them why? They told him that they would like to become Singapore citizens cause they do not wish to go back to Myanmar.
(do note that Burmese passports do not allow them to go to other countries except Singapore, right now)
So, who say PRs are not loyal to Singapore?
HAHAHAHAH!

Pls lah, all these new citizens will not be posted to combat units, at most drivers or storemen. i ever saw three,i repeat, three new citizen NSFs struggle to change a flat tyre on a landrover defender. one confirm a PRC, another a Pinoy and the third i suspect a burmese. The three of them struggled for an hour while us reservists watch from the side as we waited for our turn in the section live firing.
All they achieve in an hour was to rounded all the rivets and have to call recovery vehicle from sungei gedong to Area A. The farking driver is even more lazy than our typical ang gong siao drivers. If the new citizen had been doing servicing and maintainence regularly, there no reason why all the rivets are jam.
since they cannot even do simple chore, all the more they should be thrown into infantry aka SIR or PDF units. No need to use much brain and no high tech waepons in these units. If can post to 30 SCE bridging lagi better as it really a excuse brain unit, only need brute strength.

This demonstrates how good Singapore really is together with the strength of its democracy and economy as well as these Burmese hardy boys who would volunteer National Service which is respectable too.
