A Malaysian woman traveled to Singapore and complained that the hotel not only had poor hygiene, but also at least three rats sneaked into the room late at night. The front desk staff only gave the rats a sticker and could not change the room immediately. She and her friend could only stay with the rats all night.

29-year-old Miss Chen (pseudonym) told Channel 8 News that she and her friends came to Singapore from Johor, Malaysia on the 19th of last month.

Since all the affordable hotels were full, the remaining ones were all hotels with a nightly fee ranging from more than 600 to more than 1,000 yuan. Miss Chen found a three-star hotel on Sim's Road on the booking platform and spent 1,129 ringgit (about 333 Singapore dollars) to book a four-day and three-night stay.

The rats could not be driven away and jumped onto the bed

Miss Chen said that although there were no problems with the front desk, elevator and other facilities, they smelled a foul odor when they checked into a windowless room at around 6 pm that day, so they asked to change rooms.

When they arrived at the second room, they felt that there was no peculiar smell, so they went out to sightsee. Unexpectedly, when they returned to the room at about 1 a.m. the next day (20th) and were about to go to sleep, they heard a series of strange noises.

The nightmare came at this time, and at least three rats appeared in the guest room. After Ms. Chen notified the front desk, the staff came up and only provided two rat stickers, and said that the hotel was full and could not change rooms. In desperation, the two could only ask to change rooms in the morning.

"We saw those rats running in from the crack of the door, and they were not afraid of people at all. My friend confronted them with slippers the whole time, but couldn't scare them away. They even jumped on the bed."

For this reason, the two stayed up all night, accompanied by rats, and could not sleep peacefully until the rats disappeared in the morning, and did not get up until the afternoon.

Unable to contact the manager to ask for a refund, chose to call the police

Because they didn't want to waste their time waiting for the hotel to prepare to change rooms, they planned to leave their luggage at the counter and go out directly.

When they were packing their luggage, they carefully checked the room and found that the pillows were not only yellow and moldy, but also had blood stains.

After they returned to the hotel at around 9pm, they were moved to another room, but Ms. Chen said that this room was also full of odors, and they received two more rat stickers, which made the two of them feel unacceptable. "My only request is cleanliness, sleep, and no rats."

So they asked for a refund and checked out, but the staff said that the manager would contact her. As a result, she waited for two hours and still no one contacted her, so she called the police.

The police confirmed that they had received the report.

Unfamiliar with the place, dragging luggage to find a hotel in the early morning

Under the coordination of the police, the manager and Ms. Chen talked, but they could not reach a consensus on the refund. Later, Ms. Chen and her friend left late at night. In an unfamiliar place, they dragged their luggage to find another hotel nearby, but they didn't expect that it would rain all night.

Ms. Chen said: "That was one night I slept on the streets in Singapore. We had nowhere to go and couldn't find a hotel, so we stayed at the Sands (Marina Bay Sands) until the morning and then found another hotel to stay in."

Regarding the refund, Ms. Chen said that the hotel manager told her that she needed to apply to the travel platform, but the travel platform told her that she needed to negotiate with the hotel, which made her feel helpless.

"8world News Network" has tried to contact the hotel by phone, WhatsApp and email, but has not received a response yet.
