SINGAPORE: Singapore has been named the "Best Sightseeing City in Asia Pacific" in 2009.

The title was given out at the Seoul Tourism Awards 2009 on Thursday.

Organisers said Singapore has several winning factors, including an active MICE industry and infrastructure.

At the same award ceremony, Singapore Tourism Board's website also won the "Best Website of City Tourism Promotion in Asia-Pacific".

Judges said the online portal has a variety of content, and user-friendly interface offering 16 different languages.

The Seoul Tourism Awards recognises the best urban tourism service promotion in the Asia Pacific region.

Winners were selected through expert recommendations and votes from the public.

Take this news with a big tablespoon of salt. There are many places in Malaysia that are much more interesting than Singapore like their parks, farms, nature reserve, mountains, temples and mosques. What does Singapore have? Zoo? Birdpark? Bukit Tiimah Hill? Singapore Flyer? Tada... Many people think that the most interesting place in Singapore is GAYLAND.

Hey, can't you read simple English? You better eat the salt with your soupspoon!

This award is specifically for the best sightseeing CITY in Asia-Pacific - which few can denied is the BEST.

You are shooting off your nose by equating it with COUNTRY, which if included, would most probably also rank Singapore among the highest.

Some Singaporeans who live in it do not appreciate what they have - just like they don't appreciate their mother's cooking their dinner every day until their wife takes over! Go to any Asian city and you will appreciate what Singapore has or is - all within compact distance.

So the next time somebody asks you whether her face is beautiful or not, don't tell her she has a sexy body!

C'mon, if Singapore were ranked lowly, you would ask for heads to roll. If Singapore is ranked highly, you say is fake. Not much anybody can do there

Best sightseeing because there isn't much to do?

Gayland is the best sightseeing place in Singapore because there are a lot of streetwalkers and for the Singapore ladies, delicious food court and restaurant food.

KNN are you insulting my Malay friends - and by the same token - and by extension my Muslim friends - because they tell me that they go Geylang every Sunday with their family.

Geylang is like their homeland even though they may be staying in Bedok, Bukit Batok or Kallang. Are you trying to fan racial unrest?

Remember the Indian prosecutor lawyers are demanding jail terms for the Christian couple who was found guilty of distributing pamplets offending people of other religious beliefs.
