Few years ago my Muslim neighbours had their in laws from M'sia over.
It was the Ramadan, i know them well but not their in laws.
We happened to be in the same lift one morning and my kid 8 years old then was munching away a chocolate bun. We started talking me and my neighbours.
Then the in laws, the father asked my neighbour (his son-in-law), "Why your Cina neighbour so rude, let his son eat in front of us", then he turned and looked at me with disgust.
My neighbour was so embarrassed his face flushed and he told his father in law, in SG this is totally acceptable for Muslims even during Ramadan. We are used to this, this is SG.
His father in law looked disgusted and i had a suspicion he already knew that but just want to take the chance to chastise his son in law and to make me feel awkward as a non-Muslim.
I was pissed but i was calmed and i asked my son, "is the chocolate bun nice?"

That’s why i was annoyed when we had a local publication (mothership or 8days, can’t remember) praising students for eating in the toilet or out of sight of their Muslim schoolmates during Ramadan.
That’s not the point of Ramadan and when you start bending backwards for religious folks, such behaviour becomes normalized and expected of everyone.
these are enlightened muslims. alleluia!Allah allow meh?
As far as I know, there is no prohibition wrt dogs. Bedouin Arabs use dogs to hunt. No problem.these are enlightened muslims. alleluia!
double standard, it happens.Allah allow meh?
Gimme his address.i ever saw a tudung wearing girl having a pet dog in Singapore. No joke. i was confused at first but thought, hey, this is a free world. no problem.
I have a Malay associate who disregard and renounced his own Islamic religion due to him rebelling the massive restriction that this religion need to uphold, so he show the middle finger and be a free thinker, in sg as well.
