Background:
Maids get kick-backs for recommending their friends to take loans from moneylenders who call themselves bankers.

Part 1:
During off-days, moneylenders will ask the debtor-maids to be sex workers to recover loan-interests and make money from pimping.
- Many agreed because they can get a cut from selling their bodies. This is the main source of income from such moneylending business.
- Some don't agree, ended up going around to offer loan packages to other maids like bank RM.
- Some ugly or don't want to sell their bodies, can't get new loan sign-ups, will end up stealing from employers or ask employers for loans, citing family problems. Some even try to find Singapore lovers to help them via dating apps or dating sites.

Part 2:
Those who can't repay the loan-sharks, or after getting loans from employers, run road from Singapore during off-days. They cannot afford flight tickets and takes ferries to Batam/Bintan. ICA wouldn't care, every weekend, countless left Singapore like this. Employers usually lose some precious belongings.

Part 3:
A few moneylenders will go on to harass the employers of these maids, hoping to recover some money. Usually if you don't respond or call police, it will end from there. If employers are deemed "vulnerable", eg old folks, single mums, they will try to squeeze some money from them.

loansharks lend so much to maids meh ?

hope more maids will do the same.................put those loansharks out of business.......... :roflmao:

These days more $$$ and love issues because MOM said employers cannot retain the work-permit card and passport of the maids.

Some didn't leave singapore after running away from employers, they just became overstayers, make enough money then leave Singapore when they feel like. I was told that if overstayers don't want to pay a fine, they can still leave Singapore but they will be barred from entry (with the same passport).
