The two injured officers were taken to hospital. Sgt Chong spent two days in a neurosurgery ward and was given 29 days of hospitalisation leave, while Sgt Chen was given five days of outpatient sick leave for a fractured nasal bone.

SPF and insurance can protect and compensate you if you are injured during your line of work but they won't guarantee you a job after it.

So why risk your rice bowl to expect citizen to comply?

A recent news on SPF by Sham about a high ranking officer being incompetent has push down the morales on SPF as well as the recent case where brutality is exert of suspect and an outsource security use tkd kick to flip a pmd rider.

They are not without consequences. When the head doesn't protect the subordinates. What makes you think it is worth risking your life/job for it?

They deserve to "eat bullets". No mercy. Bet you they will say sorry and plead for leniency before the sentencing judge. As for Sgt Chong, after full recovery and some compensation, he should be discharged from the police force altogether or be transferred to a desk job. Totally ineffective.
