Do you think it is vulgar?

A restaurant in Jurong East placed a billboard with the name of the dish "Shrimp Noodles Wet" and was accused of double entendre. Some people criticized it for vulgar culture. The clerk explained that the boss used a "homonymous pun" and did not receive any complaints.

Chocobar, a restaurant located on the first floor of the Vision Exchange commercial building in Jurong East, had a billboard outside the restaurant with the name of the dish "Shrimp Noodles Wet" written on it. As a result, it was photographed by the public and posted on Xiaohongshu, which caused heated discussions.

The reporter found that in just two days, there were more than 650 comments. Many people thought that the wording was inappropriate, saying that "Shrimp Noodles Wet" was a double entendre and uncomfortable. However, a few people expressed understanding, saying that the store wanted to express that Fujian shrimp noodles were not dry noodles.

In response to this, the reporter visited the restaurant yesterday afternoon. When the clerk was interviewed, he said that the name of the dish was conceived by the boss. "Our prawn noodles have soup, and the boss thought it was a pun, quite interesting, so he let us put up a billboard. We have put it up for two weeks." (Reported by Guan Yafan) (Photo: Wu Weiguo)
