PORT KLANG: Screaming women, believed to be sex workers, jumped from the sixth floor window of a hotel when police raided the premises. The women landed one floor below, with six of them suffering injuries during the Wednesday night raid. The injured women were given prompt medical attention.
Long way down: Police officers attending to two women who tried to escape the raiding party Thursday.
The sex workers, in their early 20s, were believed to be from China and Indonesia, said Klang South District police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Mat Yusop. Used condoms and birth control pills were found at the scene by the police raiding team. ACP Mohamad said it is believed the sex workers earned between RM100 and RM150 from each client.
The hotel was popular among visiting seafarers who stayed there during their stopover in Port Klang. Dubbed ‘Ops Noda’, the exercise was aimed at vice activities in Klang. The two-hour vice bust saw 24 foreign women being held for allegedly offering sexual services at the hotel’s spa and massage parlour.
