The Department of Special Investigation and other officials rescued 10 Laotian women from prostitution late Monday night.
<!-- Google Dtail Ads --> <!-- Google Dtail Ads --> Authorities are now pressuring the ring's leader Wiroj Sukpitak to surrender and trying to find where other victims have been hidden. Two Laotians had managed to escape from Wiroj and alerted the Social Development and Human Security Ministry about their ordeal. They said Wiroj had forced many Lao women into the sex trade. A source said Wiroj had close ties with a police senior sergeant-major. He has openly run a karaoke parlour but has also operated brothels behind the scenes.
