Serial molester arrested in Tampines

SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a 16-year-old youth who is believed to involved in several molest cases in Tampines.

The suspect is believed to have a modus operandi whereby he approaches his victims from behind and covering their mouths before molesting them.

The victims were all aged between 11-41.

On 29 March 2011 at about 8pm, officers who were conducting a stake out in the vicinity of Tampines Street 23 spotted a youth who fitted the description of the suspect provided by the victims.

They conducted a check and finally arrested the youth after an interview.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 31 March 2011 for the offence of Outrage of Modesty, the offence carries a charge of imprisonment for a term of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years.

A court order will be sought to remand the suspect for further investigations.
