Serial factory burglar nabbed
A MAN who is believed to be responsible for a spate of housebreaking and theft cases at various industrial estates has been caught.
The suspect, 41, was arrested on Wednesday evening in the vicinity of Outram Road.
Several suspected stolen items such as a handphone, cashcard, collectible coins and a watch were seized from him, along with gloves, face masks, a crow bar, a padlock cutter, and a bolt cutter which were believed to have been used in the break-ins.
Since July, a spate of housebreaking and theft cases targeting mainly offices, warehouses and canteens within various industrial estates islandwide was reported.
In most cases, the culprit would gain entry by tampering or forcing open the window louvers or doors using hard objects.
Through extensive enquiries and follow-up investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and track him down.
The suspect will be charged on Friday.
