SENIOR Minister Goh Chok Tong said it is time for the People's Action Party to go on the offensive and start asking the opposition for concrete proposals.
'Round one is over, round two is happening now,' said Mr Goh after a walkabout in Mountbatten on Monday to support PAP's candidate in the single-seat ward, Mr Lim Biow Chuan.
SM Goh said the PAP is a strong boxer that has been taking hits from the opposition.
'The PAP, in my opinion, would have to question the opposition: What are your plans? Are they motherhood statements? How do you intend to translate your plans into real situations on the ground?
'In other words, what are your concrete plans?'
Asked if the campaign has been a 'clean and gentlemanly fight' so far, SM Goh said: 'I think certainly. The important thing is to avoid people from being confused by the attacks from the other side.
PAP is a strong boxer whose reputation is known. So everybody just throws punches at the PAP.'
