SINGAPORE - A security officer has been sentenced to five weeks' jail for punching a taxi driver several times in the face.
48-year-old Yeo Lye Woo pleaded guilty to causing hurt to Mr Sim Kiang Seck at a POSBank at Block 290, Yishun Street 22 on June 24 this year.
Mr Sim, 53, had driven Yeo from Northpoint Shopping Centre to a carpark behind the block. Yeo then told him to wait there.
The cabby waited for 30 minutes before he printed out a receipt and went looking for Yeo. He found him at the POSB branch.
Mr Sim told Yeo he had waited very long and that his vehicle was obstructing other road users.
An argument then broke out, during which Yeo punched Mr Sim in the face several times. They were separated by bank staff and other customers.
Yeo could have been jailed up two years and/or fined up to $5,000 for voluntarily causing hurt.
