STOMPer maxsim76 is worried about the defects found at Pinnacle@Duxton along Cantonment Road. However, what irk him more are the security flaws he discovered, which makes the residential complex vulnerable to break-ins and peeping toms.
He said:
"Being one of the proud owners of one of a middle unit in Pinnacle@Duxton, we are all very excited but it is only for a short period when we see defects such as chipped ceramic tiles, chipped off doors that had being badly patched, bedroom doors that cannot be open with all the keys provided, low water pressure, gap between timber skirting and ceramic tiles, and scratchy and rough patches on parquet floorings.
"But all these defects can be rectified by the developer.
"What is worrying is the security flaw that middle units of the 6 units per level are facing.
"Anyone with ill intention can climb through a gap between the grills of the common corridor.
"After climbing through, the person can stand on the aircon ledge that is only protected with a waist-high grill and he can easily climb through the toilet window of the master bedroom if it is left open.
"Of course the toilet window can be shut tight but that is the only ventilation for the toilet.
"If the toilet window is shut tight, we will have unplesant odours, moisture can't escape and mould is bounded to grow.
"Some even suggested putting grills on the toilet windows.
"I personally don't want to live in a 'prison-styled' unit.
"If you have seen the common corridor and windows of a Pinnacle@Duxton, there is really a prison-like feel to it with all the vertical grills.
"Owners should not be the one providing solutions for these flaws.
"I even thought of grills for the aircon ledge but residents are not allow to do anything that will deviate from the unique design.
"Another privacy problem faced by the middle units is that anyone squatting at the common corridor can easily have a full view of the toilet of the unit below if the windows are left open.
"I guess we will have to install ventilation fans, but who will foot the bill?
"Security Flaws in the interior and common area design allow floor easy breaking in and invite peeping toms."
