有學生質疑出題教師有特定政治傾向，藉考試在全校高二學生前侮辱國家元首，向媒體投訴。
曾任高中英文教師20多年的台灣團結聯盟籍嘉義市議員蔡永泉表示，試題中的englishit，結合English（英文）及Shit（大便）兩字，影射意味濃厚。嘉中是嘉義一流學府，出這樣的考題十分不妥。
嘉中教務主任郭柳枝今天表示，這是學校開學後的平時測驗，非期中考試，經查出題教師無政治立場，僅是為提高學生學習興趣、測驗英文程度，別無他意，引起學生誤解，出題教師也感到抱歉。郭柳枝說，嘉中學風開放、講求校園民主，校方完全尊重教師言論、試題內容，但為避免無謂爭議，已要求教師應斟酌考卷用詞。
