A secondary one boy, 12, was allegedly assaulted in school, resulting in a gash on the back of his head.

His uncle, Goh, shared the incident on Facebook and called for "justice".

Deep cut

In his post in the Complaint Singapore Facebook group, Goh shared that his nephew is a new student at Admiralty Secondary School and within four days, he was "brutally assaulted" by a classmate.

Goh claimed that on Jan. 7, the school called the family to inform them that the boy had a "minor cut" and that an ambulance had been called in.

The family then rushed down to the school.

However, when they reached the hospital, they discovered that the boy had sustained a cut that was about 4cm to 5cm long and 7mm to 8mm deep on the back of his head.

The boy told the family that a classmate repeatedly hit his head with a metal water bottle, which resulted in the injury.

Goh said they have filed a police report.

Stained the uniform

Speaking to Mothership, Goh shared that a classmate had pushed his nephew into the alleged attacker.

In retaliation, the alleged attacker apparently hit Goh's nephew on the head with a metal water bottle.

It was not known what caused the adverse reaction.

Goh added that the school administered first aid and called the ambulance.

However, the cut was "so bad that it stained his uniform", and the wound did not stop bleeding when the family visited the boy in the hospital at 9pm that night, Goh claimed.

Goh shared that the boy has since been discharged.

The doctor recommended that no stitches were needed and that an adhesive for such injuries could be used to seal the wound to prevent scarring.

Goh added that the school has informed the family that they are investigating the incident and that the alleged assailant has been suspended for the time being.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the police confirmed that they received a call for assistance and a 12-year-old boy is assisting with investigations.

Goh also told the Chinese media that his nephew has been greatly affected by this incident.

The family declined meeting with the school, it was reported.

The uncle added that they are considering transferring the boy to another school.

In response to Mothership's queries, Admiralty Secondary School said it is aware of an incident between two students on Jan. 7 that resulted in a cut on one of the student's head.

The school called the ambulance to take the student to the hospital, and the student was in stable condition.

The school added that it is in touch with the student's parents and is closely monitoring his well-being:

"We take the safety and well-being of our students seriously, and the school does not condone any acts of violence.

We have counselled the student involved and will carry out the necessary disciplinary action."

The school noted that a police report was lodged and will assist the police with the investigation

A Secondary 1 student was allegedly assaulted by his classmate at Admiralty Secondary School on Jan 7 afternoon.

His uncle, Stomper Goh, shared photos of the injured 12-year-old boy and said he was seeking justice for his nephew.

"I am deeply disturbed and heartbroken by an incident that occurred to my nephew, a new student at Admiralty Secondary School," said the Stomper.

"Within just four days of attending, he was brutally assaulted by a classmate in the classroom."

The Stomper received a call from the school at 2.11pm, informing him that his nephew had a "minor cut" and an ambulance was called.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at 31 Woodlands Crescent, the address of the school, at 2pm and assessed one person for minor injuries.

"When we rushed to the school, they reiterated that it was just a small injury," said the Stomper.

"However, upon reaching the hospital, we were shocked to learn the truth: My nephew sustained a deep cut (4 to 5cm long and 7 to 8mm deep) on the back of his head, requiring specialist stitches.

"The hospital informed us that further CT scans could only be conducted after 72 hours due to the severity of the wound."

The Stomper said that according to his nephew, the classmate repeatedly hit his head with a water bottle, causing the injury.

"We have filed a police report and demand that this case is not swept under the carpet," added the Stomper.

"This is not just about one child – it’s about ensuring the safety and accountability of a school that is supposed to protect and nurture its students."

The school told The Straits Times: "We have counselled the student involved and will carry out the necessary disciplinary action. We note that a police report has been lodged on the incident and will assist the police with the investigation."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at the school at about 2pm.

"A 12-year-old boy was assessed for injuries by SCDF. Another 12-year-old boy is assisting with investigations for voluntarily causing hurt," said the police, who added that investigations are ongoing.

My condolences to the victim's families, relatives & friends, & may the victim - a young child - have a speedy physical & mental recovery thru support from loved ones & others.

Who is right & who is wrong?

Ultimately, when PHYSICAL or MENTAL violence is wrought upon another by others, the CLARITY is clear.

Kids of this generation are UNLIKE those of adults of this generation, due to the EXPOSURE of social media & at often times - video games which sought to show how civilizations can evolved, but at the same time, it shows how Rule of Might is the law, without understanding the COMPLEX situations to led to such beliefs... such as the irony to defend peace, one would have to defend it, with arms... as well as the definition of PEACE & domination/slavery, which is often beyond young & naive minds... .

It may be a case for Parliamentarians to discuss, debate & find solutions to PROTECT our innocent next generations from the while useful effects of social media to BROADEN minds, but ALSO, to limit the very more HARMFUL effects upon young, innocent & naive minds, as they are the Future of Humankind.....

In the end, Singapore is a Rule of Law Nation. We all - young or old, live by the golden rule - to hurt or harm none, so that none would hurt or harm us. There is NO reason for violence, & such WILL come at a price that no loved ones would want, no matter the provocations.

Parents have to play their part too in educating their beloved kids, to keep them safe from harm by others OR harming others.

Negligence of loved ones & the responsibility it entails is a crime of Humanity, as thru neglect or false/failed teachings, will render them to turn to BARBARIC ways to survive, a norm that had long been forsaken when our ancestors arose from caves & jungles, to build Civilization...
