In Holland road some of those who enblocked their homes now found that they had to pay heftily to buy their new homes near their older homes enblocked away. people who had their homes enblocked in Leedon , Ford mansion etc all lost net worth value when they had to rebuy more expensively . They all blame the 80 % ruling which only happens in Singapore.
THE BINJAI PAKR JALANJAMBU AND HUA GUAN AREA..yes there were some die hard but also some didn't agree with establishment policies and other s wondered how their churen adn great churen can ever afford properties in Singapore ....so soem also voted opposition.
Heard that Clementi Park also lots of Opposition supporters. ,as well as building policy some bungalow in Sunset became cluster housing suddenly....so all say for the sake of developers they allow all this nonsense type shoe boxes to be build....
Ridgewood And Pandan Valley also lots of Opposition supporters who can't stand the efact that they ar ebeing pestered to enbloc their homes. by rogue agents and crooked developers.
Pine Grove the owners are 99 year lease HUDC privitised type also got fed up because in their case just before the called for tender for their enbloc - suddenly the government threw in a development charge so high - the enbloc derailed..( in thei rcase they wanted to enblock)
when their very assets are threatened - nothing to lose what!- so many all voted SDP just like in Potong Paiseh for years the support came from the landed Sennett estate group. even when their heartland votes dwindled - the landed homes were steadfast in their suppor tof the Opposition.
In general the educated group can see that the policies are going wrong - it's all about money - it not a home. so they vote the other way lor...And this will continue in the years to come . All fed up so it is because the SDP had not enough interaction with the heartlands - they lost!
The Clementi heartlands wanted to hear Hokkien and Cantonese -At the rally nothing heard. ..all Ang moh speeches = ah Peks ah ums went to rally grounds at commonwealth and were disappointed. The mascot bear and the whistle etc were like carnival atsmosphere and distracting....as if not serious enough...
