School canteen so small that students have to kneel down to eat

The canteen at Coral Secondary School is so small that students often find themselves without seats during recess period, says STOMPer haha, who is a fed-up student at the school.

Haha says that it usually takes a long time for him to find an available seat in the canteen during recess.

When the sender saw this boy kneeling down to eat his food, he decided to take a picture to show how bad the situation has become.

STOMPer haha says in an email dated January 14:

"I am from Coral Secondary School.

"This is happening almost everyday during upper-secondary recess.

"The canteen was in chaos and I was walking around to find a seat with my food in hand.

"Usually I will only find a seat during the last 15 minutes of recess.

"I happened to see this kid and I took a few pictures with my phone".

u are taught to kneel from young becos that will be what they will be doing when they grow up...kneel to the government, the FTs...

next level after mastering kneeling, they will learn how to kowtowing and finally for PSLE, carrying balls..

Education has truly failed them. Still having his heavy backpack on his shoulders, kneeling down and eating from a table. Is it that necessary to eat food from a table?

When I was in ICT in the field eating rations, there were NO TABLES or chairs and none of us ever knelt to eat our food.

Most of us used our helmets (taking care that no officer was around)as 'chairs' to sit on if no rock or fallen tree trunk was available.

That student in the picture could have used his bagpack as a seat on another location in the canteen, not necessary to use the table at all.

Just wondering why didn't the principal use her handphone and take some photos each day to present a formal request for upgrading the school facilities so as not to demean the students and their families?
