<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to the letter by Mr Jason Toh, 'Let us house them everywhere' (Oct 17).
In identifying vacant state properties for possible conversion to temporary dormitory use, the Ministry of National Development takes into account such factors as their availability, that is, whether they are already committed for use or have an immediate competing use, and their technical feasibility, such as whether they have adequate sewerage and other infrastructure to support the development.
Mr Toh highlighted possible uses for two school sites - the former Jurong Garden School in Upper Bukit Timah Road and Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) in Cairnhill Road. Both these sites have already been committed for education use. The Jurong Garden School site is now on tender for a commercial or foreign system school to meet the need for such school places. Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) in Cairnhill Road has already been slated as the Ministry of Education's second Language Centre. Lim Yuin Chien

Well, it's just too bad no private school wants to pay for the Serangoon Gardens site.

Your owners stated that the schs are not allowed to be used as Bangala dorms. Only running dogs would insist on acting blur and twisting it around.

If Singapore American School outbid the dormitory operator for the school, you think they will not relent? Get real. You boors will never understand how the REAL world works.

Oh dear moniker makapaaa. Do you apply such logic if the same scenario happened in New York City.

Dear moniker makapaa

Same feather flocks together . They rubberstamp!

SGT was not put up for bid for private schools.

Serangoon garden residents cheered Sylvia Lim and LTK like mad when rally was held Serangoon stadium.

I have friends who live in crowhurst, kensington park, previous Hwi Yoh school, etc, they told me this is a opposition enclave.

so you see why the Dorm suddenly ?

They can easily take Parry Avenue primary (used to be boys' school--nearly 40 years old) and shift the students somewhere else.

Perhaps the price to pay for voting for oppo parties is dear.
