It's good to have compassion for the needy, but don't be fooled by these scammer beggars.
There's one old lady who sells tissue paper in the morning. She always calls out to people to help her. But by afternoon or early evening, she is usually in the cinema with her legs on the chair in front of her, enjoying a movie and the aircon.
There's a man who claims to be blind, have diabetes and heart disease. But in between begging, he'll go to a place not to near his spot and smokes. Someone should tell him that if he has a few diseases and can't afford it, he shouldn't smoke.
And those prc national beggars. Sad to see that some of them are disabled. But I wonder if people who give to them ever thought about how they got here. They would have had to take a plane, wouldn't they? Perhaps they are not the masterminds in this scheme, but by giving to them out of compassion, we may be unfortunately breeding and keeping alive some organizations which specialize in begging in foreign countries.
