The US doesn't want to pump more oil because it has become economically unfavourable for the US to produce more oil; especially when US and Europe wants oil prices below $60 to punish Russia. What US wants is for Saudi to produce these so they can buy them cheap and have Saudi foot the bill.

The US has 38 billion barrels of reserves. That's a full 5 years worth of oil reserves if US maintains its current rate of consumption. All they have to do is to release 20%-30% of it but not, that's not the plan. The plan is for others to pay the price of war with Russia while they benefit from it.

If you cannot lose weight, make everyone else fatter than you are. The US knows they are losing and have given up fighting. Its aim is to make everyone else lose more than they do.
