<!-- story content : start --> A COUNTDOWN party with a difference will be held at Labrador Park on New Year's eve. Held overnight, it will last more than eight hours - from 10pm to 6.30am the next morning - and aims to get 10,000 Singaporeans, new citizens and permanent residents to mix. Organised jointly by the Radin Mas Citizens' Consultative Committee and the Hua Yuan Association - a group for new Chinese immigrants - and supported by the National Integration Council, the organisers are reaching out by contacting various immigrant associations to rally their members to attend the countdown. Invitations to new citizens and permanent residents within the Tanjong Pagar area have gone out, although the party is open to everyone. The night's programmes include cultural performances such as long-nozzle teapot dance from Chong Qing, belly dancing and drum performance from the Middle East. Magic duo JC Sum and 'Magic Babe' Ning will put on an illusion show, while a movie marathon with five Chinese and English films will be screened. Families can take part in activities such as paying a fee to sing karaoke corner by the seaside, buying food for a barbecue or letting their children play at a children's corner.
