Roxana Saberi

I just came across the following news item on BBC:

I seem to recall that journalist Roxana Saberi reported for Channel News Asia some years back, covering among other events, the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 and later, events in Iran. Could anyone here please confirm or refute my memory?

I ask this because there seems not to have been acknowledgement of any sort in CNA or ST that Ms Saberi had worked for them. This is in stark contrast to the coverage given to Mr Ching Cheong when the latter was jailed by China.

Ching Cheong is no ordinary journalist. I thought the classic signs are there to see.

Confirmed it was another girl. Was impressed by her too ..

I recall now that someone else reported from Iraq during the invasion. Roxana did report for CNA but from neighbouring Iran (where she is now on trial).

After the invasion of Iraq though, she did I believe make a few reports from inside Iraq, after the other newscaster left the scene.

Roxana was competent and interesting to listen to, and I think CNA should speak up for her as a former staff member.
