Rottweilers are dangerous dogs to keep as pets

Couple seen leading their rottweilers away from their home after the dogs mauled and k*lled a 5-year-old girl. The incident happened at the couple's $2 million home in Covina, California.
The girl had reportedly been around the dogs, aged 10 and 6, for her entire life.It is suspected that the girl is the couple's daughter however that information is not yet public."She fell. They (the rottweiler and rottweiler mix) immediately started attacking her," said sheriff’s Lt. Steve De Jong.

The girl's father then dove on top of her to shield her from the dogs but it wasn't enough.The girl was rushed to the hospital with injuries to her neck and head. She didn't make it.

The couple's dogs are a 10-year-old rottweiler, a 6-year-old rottweiler/Weimaraner mix, a 10-year-old Weimaraner and a 4-year-old Doberman.The 10-year-old rottweiler and the 6-year-old rottweiler/Weimaraner mix were the dogs who carried out the attack.

Breeds like Rottweilers, pit bulls, Dobermans, even Alsatians are not safe in the home if you have kids. Their small size may be mistaken as a rival dog, especially when down on all fours, and their actions may be unpredictable and provocative (pulling dog's tail, poking it in the eye, etc.).

My friend has a not so friendly Rottweiler. The first time I was at his place, it growled at me. Then he came and sniffed on my unwashed and smelly socks. It gave me a dirty and shocked look and quickly ran away. Now, whenever I go to my friend's place and see that stupid dog, I would stick out my feet and it'll run far away from me.

But not all Rottweilers are like that. Maybe they are characteristic, but if they are raised correctly and loved, everything will be fine. But to be honest with myself, I would not buy such a breed of dog
